From what you've said before, New Zealand has its arms open wide to give them a hug!

Only if they are liberal leaning, highly qualified teachers of junior and middle grade schools who are prepared to sacrifice their lives and their current incomes in favour of the lifestyle and the honour of being spat and sworn at by uneducated louts and loutesses in groups of over 40.

Oh, and we are apparently on the lookout for tradesman builders, plumbers and electricians as well. Some 20 years back a "well meaning" right of centre government decided that it was unneccessary to have a government assisted apprenticeship scheme. Instead apprenticeships and trades training would become the reponsibility of the private sector. Guess what...

So if you fall into either of those groups and know what the meaning of the word "ruck" is, then you could well be on your way.

Otherwise just forget it. we got enough of them holywod-type furriners buying the place up. time to get rid of them...

Ah...So we encourage and commend those Hollywood-type furriners for there loyalty to the cause and promoting the Little Red Book wherever they go, but they don't deserve the rewards of that loyal service...Sounds blatently discriminatory and hypocritical to me....Not to mention typical...(c:

Ah dear me, another anonymous who can not read, or is suffering from post-deconstructionism trauma. Poor soul.

I, and the rest of NZ, owe NOTHING to anyone who comes here to live.

We owe even less to people who come here to buy large tracts of land at exorbitant prices for reasons that can range from "the occasional holiday home" through to "ideal tax sink". All of these "people" come from the good ol' USofA. We do not enquire into their politics. Some might be liberal. There are some who are unashamed supporters of George Shrub. WE NZers - unlike you - make no distinction on that count.

There perhaps lies a very major difference between NZ today and the USofA under George Shrub.

NZ is sufficiently open minded and tolerant that a new-comer is judged on their willingness to contribute; their ability to become part of our society. In return we are happy and encourage them to retain their identity and culture without fear of criticism or discrimination (though some limits are appearing in recent times) .

The USofA has become divided on the basis of religion (it matters if you are catholic or protestant), political views (it matters if you are Republican or not), on race (it matters if you are American or not), on culture (are you Christian or outlaw).

No guesses for which I prefer.

You stay where you are and keep your anonimity; the only basis for which that I can figure is the fear that someone important might find out who you are.
