The paranoia strikes deep...

Noted with dismay more than anything else is the deportation of Yusuf Islam aka Cat Stevens from the US "on the grounds that he has terrorist connections".

What chance is there for a simple atheist like the probligo to find HIS way into the US? None. I would not even step outside the gate...

Yusuf, you are welcome down this way any time...

As long as your aren't prone to donating primarily to groups known to fund terror organizations, you shouldn't have a problem getting in. It's my understanding that it's the cause of Mr. Islam's security status.
The big news over here is how a person on a watch list was allowed to board a plane inbound. Supposedly our security people have been working with the the security people from other countries to prevent "bad guys" from moving around.

It just goes to show that US Homeland Security is far more paranoid than the security in many other nations. This fact makes many people over here more paranoid. Not from the thought of bad guys getting in, but from fear of our own zealous security machine. They see images of being stopped on the way into the supermarket and being forced to show their papers.
